No Classes in NCR as Typhoon Pedring Intensifies

Update as of 7:30 a.m., September 26,2011

• Usec.Abigail Valte just announced the suspension of work in all government offices today, Sept. 27, per recommendation of NDRRMC.
• Per RD Dino, the entire Region 4A has suspended classes from preschool to HS today.
• Classes from kinder to HS have been suspended in the entire CALABARZON region today, Sept 27.
• Classes in kinder, elem, HS are also suspended in Dasmarinas City, Noveleta and Batangas City today, Sept 27.
• No classes in preschool to HS in Occidental Mindoro today due to flooding.
• Classes in preschool to HS are suspended in San Pablo, Laguna.
• There will be no classes in the entire Rizal Province from preschool to HS today.
• Gov Jonvic Remulla has announced suspension of classes from preschool to HS in the entire Cavite province.

A September 26, 2011 advisory from the Department of Education

As of 11:30 p.m., September 26, 2011

NCR – Per Regional Director Elena Ruiz, all classes in preschool, elementary, and high school (public and private) will remain suspended.

Reg 2 – All classes in preschool, elementary, and high school (public and private) in Isabela, Cagayan, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya have been declared suspended by Regional Director Benito Tumamao.

Reg 4A – All classes in preschool, elementary, and high school (public and private) in Antipolo City, Jala Jala, Rodriguez, and San Mateo in Rizal; in Rosario, Gen. Trias, Tanza, and Bacoor in Cavite; in Sta. Rosa, Laguna; and in the entire Quezon Province have been suspended by local authorities.

Automatic suspension of classes based on storm signals raised or declarations made by LGU, local DepEd officials, or school heads will be applied in other areas not mentioned.

Classes are suspended tomorrow, September 27,2011 as Typhoon Pedring has further intensified as it endangers Isabela-Aurora area.

DepEd Advisory as of 11:00 pm, September 26,2011:

• In RIZAL, only San Mateo, Rodriguez, Jala jala, and Antipolo have suspended classes up to HS. NOT the entire province.
• LAGUNA: No classes in Sta. Rosa division for kinder, elementary and HS tomorrow, Sept 27.
• CAVITE: No classes in Rosario, Gen. Trias, Tanza and Bacoor for kinder, elementary and HS tomorrow, Sept 27.
•  In Region IV-A, local authorities in the provinces of Quezon and Rizal have already suspended classes for tomorrow
• If storm signal in Nueva Ecija doesn't change until early tomorrow, automatically classes from pre-school to HS will be suspended

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 AM tomorrow and the hourly updates.
